Female Figure
A female figure, carved of wood. She is standing upright, with her hands resting underneath her breasts. She has a particular hairstyle with ridges running from the front of her head, to the back, terminating in two points. As with two other examples from the British Museums collections, this ridge is accompanied by two large disc ears, and wide hips (see BM:Af.1954.23.3664. and BM:Af.1925.-.17.). This example also has a geometric incised band around her stomach, and wears earrings made of red glass beads, a series of necklaces in black, blue, green, and red, beads, a sash and yellow, and green. glass waist beads. As with the other examples, she is wearing ankle boots.
