Warri Board Game
Warri is a board game, variants of which are played all over Africa. The Sierra Leone version consists of a carved wooden board in which two rows of six cups are set alongside one another, with two larger receptacles at either end. It is played by distributing counters anti-clockwise. This one is particularly unusual with its flanks covered in relief carving. One side depicts a bird, a gun and a yoke, and the other has a bird, two snakes, a door, a pot and a figure with a pipe. The cups at either end are supported by two figures. The Glasgow Museum catalogue notes that this example is Limba.
