Female Figure

This wooden figure is described by the Sierra Leone national Museum as a Mandingo figure, with Limba characteristics. It was bought badly damaged by wood worm, and may have deteriorated further since. The original description reads the lady is sitting on a stool which is painted green and silver. Her skirt is painted yellow and her dress dark green. Her body is painted pink and her eyes silver. She wears dark bluish-green shoes. The stool and her feet are resting on a base that is painted silver...Used for ancestor worship...with white rice, Kola, and water. .
