Chief's Drum

Chief’s drum, composed of a wooden, basin-shaped, body. Animal skin has been stretched across one end; it is fastened to the body using animal skin thongs. It comes with two beaters that have handles decorated with plaited animal skin. T. J. Alldridge's The Sherbro and its Hinterland, in 1901, shows a picture of the drum in Figure. 74.
