Historical wax cylinder recording made by Northcote Whitridge Thomas, a British government anthropologist who conducted field research in Sierra Leone in 1914-15. NWT643 (m on cylinder rim). 1. Announcement: Record 643, Timne, Kamalu, May 19th 1914. 2. Ref tone. 3. Male vocal group with leader, accompanied by percussion. Good quality recording but cylinder cracked at start.
