Steatite Head
A carved, steatite head, with a hole bored into the top. This carving is particularly interesting because its form resembles that of the Temne aRong aThoma mask. A related stone carving can be found in the Sierra Leone National Museum (SLNM.1964.43.01), which was collected in Tonkolili District, an area associated with the aRong aThoma masquerade tradition.
