Country Cloth
This cotton cloth is made from a single piece of cotton, rather than sewing together numerous strips. Looms that made cloth of this width were very rare in Sierra Leone before 1934, when it entered the museum, suggesting it may not be Sierra Leonean (the providence of the cloth is Africa). It is composed of stripes of weft faced, plain weave, consisting of natural cotton coloured warps and blue, orange, and yellow, dyed cotton, and natural coloured cotton, wefts.
