Raffia Skirt
A skirt, made from woven, black dyed, raffia. It is ornamented with bugle beads, and bits of calabash, which would have rattled when worn. It is likely to have been part of a costume worn by dancers, or public performers. This was originally part of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum collection. It was acquired by the British Museum in 1954.
