Carved Figure in World War One Uniform
A carved, wooden figure, representing a soldier wearing the uniform as worn by Sierra Leone troops who fought in the first World War. The uniform includes straps crossed over the chest, heavy boots and a bedroll carried upon his shoulders. It is accompanied by a detachable wooden wide-brimmed forage cap, accession number BM:Af.1971.32.15.b.
