Dagger and Sheath
This dagger, or knife, has a wooden handle, decorated with tin. The dagger is encased in an ornate Mandingo leatherwork sheath, with a leather tassel at one end. Mandingo leatherwork is traditionally associated with Muslim elites and comes from the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. Alldridge notes is came from Bafodia, lying north-west of Kabala.
