Kamajor Mask
This is one of two masks that entered the Sierra Leone National Museum along with a collection of items associated with the Kamajors or Civil Defence Force. The Kamajors were local militias who fought during the civil war in the 1990s. They drew upon traditional hunter-warrior lore and magic. This mask is of a type otherwise unknown in Sierra Leone.
