Mori Leather Bag
A Mori , or Mandingo , leather bag. The bag is made from white and reddish brown leather; the base of the bag is decorated with impressed lozenges and lines. A belt of twelve plaited leather strings is attached to each end of the bag, and was used as a strap for carrying. Mori or Mandingo leatherwork is traditionally associated with Muslim elites and comes from the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.
