Marabu song (in Arabic)
Ethnomusicological sound recording made by Cootje van Oven. A Muslim religious song performed in Arabic, accompanied by gita players and chorus. The gita is a rectangular frame drum. Measurements of the bigger one are 18.5" by 14", of the smaller one 16.5" by 13". The bigger one is played with one stick, the smaller one with two. The singers are Mende but the song is sung in Arabic.
