Lala
Always played in pairs, the lala is a hook-shaped instrument with discs strung on to one arm of the hook to make up a rattle. The arm bearing the discs may be slightly curved. The discs are usually cut out of a large calabash. These are usually played by Fula musicians. The lala is also known as a shake-shake, or a shaker.
