Historical wax cylinder recording made by Northcote Whitridge Thomas, a British government anthropologist who conducted field research in Sierra Leone in 1914-15. NWT669 (d on cylinder rim). 1. Announcement: ...9, Limba, [indecipherable], August 31st 1914. 2. Ref tone. 3. Unaccompanied male vocal group with leader. Reasonable quality recording but with variable signal. NB: It is not clear whether the language is East Limba or West Central Limba. C51/3056 is the master, C51/3057 (better quality) is a duplicate.
